A four-hour walking tour pairing the Blue Mosque with Topkapı Palace and its Harem — two very different buildings a few minutes apart, and a good way to see how Ottoman religious and imperial architecture answer one another.

You start at the Blue Mosque, still an active place of worship, for its İznik tilework and the vast central dome. The tour then crosses to Topkapı for the courtyards, the treasury rooms and the Harem, with the guide covering the religious changes this district has been through over the centuries.

Read the booking options carefully on this one. The operator sells it in two forms, and only the all-inclusive option covers palace admission — the cheaper version is guide-only, with the entrance fee payable separately at around €55 per person. Both are legitimate products; the price difference between them is essentially the ticket.

What to Bring

• A headscarf — required for women entering the Blue Mosque
• A long-sleeved top and long trousers; shoulders and knees must be covered inside the mosque
• Slip-on shoes are easiest, as you remove them at the mosque door

Good to Know & Caveats

• The entrance fee to Topkapı Palace is NOT included unless you book the all-inclusive option. On the guide-only option it is around €55 per person, paid separately.
• Every visitor passes an airport-style security check at the Imperial Gate. No ticket, tour or pass skips it — arriving near opening time is the only thing that shortens it.
• The Blue Mosque closes to visitors during the five daily prayer times. The tour is timed around them, but a call to prayer can shift the order of the two sites on the day.
• Topkapı is closed on Tuesdays.
