Topkapi Palace & Harem Tour (Small Group & Fast Track Entry)

4.7 (406 verified reviews)

About This Experience

The lowest-priced tour on this site that still includes admission to both the palace and the Harem. It runs as a small group with an expert English-speaking guide, and at around three hours it covers much the same ground as tours costing twice as much.

The route takes in the palace's principal chambers, courtyards and gardens, then the Harem — the sultan's private world, and the section most visitors do not realise needs its own ticket. The guide finishes on the terraces with the panoramic view over the Golden Horn.

Fast-track entry here means the ticket line, not the security line. The operator is clear about that in its own listing, which is more than can be said for many.

What Travelers Say

It’s really a huge improvement to have a guide for topkapi, it’s so huge you will miss to much wandering around otherwise

— Brice, August

This is a great tour, Tolga our guide was knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged for over 3 hours (including 2 kids 6 & 7 yrs) with lots of interesting historical facts and curiosities. The group was small, our family of 4 and another couple. The guide spoke to us the whole time (no microphones) in clear and coherent english. We started at 10.30AM which was the right choice as crowds build up massively later in the morning/early afternoon. The tour seems pricey, but it includes the entrance tickets to the palace and harem (which are quite expensive when compared to other european castle visits). It’s a long tour and there are few opportunities to sit down, the palace grounds are quite confusing to navigate so the guide is critical to keep logistical efficiency and pace. Also, the rooms and exhibits are not richly described/explained which makes the guide a smart choice again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the entrance fees really included?

Yes — the operator lists entrance fees to Topkapı Palace and to the Harem among the inclusions, so the price covers both tickets and the guide. It is worth checking this on any Topkapı tour, because several list the palace but quietly leave the Harem out.

How big is the group?

This is sold as a small-group tour, which in practice means a party small enough to hear the guide without a headset rather than a coach-sized group. A private option is available if you want the guide to yourselves.

What does fast track actually get me?

It gets you past the ticket office. You still pass through security screening at the Imperial Gate along with every other visitor, because that check has no bypass for anyone.

Is the tour available in languages other than English?

The small-group departures run in English. The private option is offered in French, German, Italian, Spanish and others — select it on the date picker to see which are bookable on your date.
